Several weeks have passed since the last update — weeks of silence on the surface, but of quiet movement underneath.
What first appeared as a pause was, in truth, a moment of reckoning.
While preparing the press release and project summary for A Tale of a New Era, an unexpected question arose: How can this project be presented at all?
A simple description — “a documentary series in progress” — could not convey what was actually taking shape. The film was not only documenting a process; it was itself part of that process. Explaining that required more than a synopsis — it required articulation.
Out of that need, the pamphlet Historia draaman kaarella (History on a Story Arc) began to take form. Writing it became a way of understanding the project’s own foundation: to see that the first season revolves around one central idea — the structure of history, revealed through the language of drama. The film enacts that discovery; the book expresses it.
The weeks of quiet were therefore not a break, but a translation — from image into concept, from process into reflection. What was hidden beneath production work surfaced as language.
The completed manuscript has now been sent to selected Finnish publishers. For those arriving here through that path, this site offers a broader context — a record of how the ideas of the book continue to evolve across the film, essays, and notes.
Meanwhile, the third episode is in production, bringing that structure of history into view. The silence was never emptiness — it was the sound of meaning taking shape.
The silence has spoken.
Now the story surfaces again.
